description of work
as a drug & alcohol case management specialist you will manage caseload of target consumers receiving services of drug and alcohol program; assess needs of eligible consumer, including level of care needed, through use of assessment tools, standard guidelines and interviews with family and counselors; complete application for funding, develop consumer service plan, facilitate treatment to address problems; coordinating prevention programming implemented through this process;
serve as advocate for consumer to reduce barriers to effective treatment; assist in obtaining ancillary services, e.g. Housing, child care, medical and financial services; conduct and follow up on interviews; update service plan; monitor progress of treatment; perform utilization review of services; prepare written reports and records; perform related office work.
work schedule and additional information:
- full-time employment
- work hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, monday - friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- may work after hour events periodically

qualifications
minimum experience and training requirements:
- one year as a drug and alcohol case management specialist trainee; or
- a bachelor's degree in chemical dependency, sociology, social welfare, psychology, nursing or a related field; and one year direct service experience performing counseling or case management work in alcohol or other drug treatment setting;or
- a bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by successful completion of 18 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, criminal justice or other related social sciences; and one year direct service experience performing counseling or case management work in alcohol or other drug treatment setting;or
- any equivalent combination of experience and training.

- you must pass a background investigation.

- under the act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, pa state police and fbi clearance.
- this position falls under the provisions of the child protective services law.
- under the law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, pa state police clearance, pa child abuse history clearance, and fbi fingerprint clearance.
