Position Overview
A growing multi-location transportation organization is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee payroll operations and ensure the accurate, timely processing of employee payroll. This individual will play a key role in maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while partnering closely with HR, Finance, and Operations to support payroll reporting, reconciliations, and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full-cycle payroll process for a multi-location workforce.
- Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on schedule while maintaining compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Oversee payroll reconciliations, reporting, audits, and financial analysis.
- Partner with Human Resources, Finance, and Operations to resolve payroll-related questions and discrepancies.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure strict confidentiality of employee information.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel to prepare reports, analyze payroll data, and reconcile payroll information.
- Support month-end and year-end payroll activities, including tax reporting and compliance.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, increase efficiency, and implement best practices.
- Assist with payroll-related projects and other departmental initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of payroll management or payroll administration experience.
- Experience processing payroll for multi-location organizations required.
- Union payroll experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, formulas, and data analysis.
- Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
- Salary: $110,000–$130,000, depending on experience
