Position Overview
The Children’s Home of Poughkeepsie has been caring for children throughout the Hudson Valley for over 175 years! We strive to empower children and families to achieve optimal health and well‑being. We are currently seeking Overnight Youth Counselors (bilingual preferred) to work in our Unaccompanied Children (UC) Program.
Available Schedules- Team 1 – Sunday through Tuesday and every other Saturday, 10 pm–8 am
- Team 2 – Wednesday through Friday and every other Saturday, 10 pm–8 am

ResponsibilitiesDuties include, but are not limited to, general child‑caring responsibilities for daily living in the UC Program, including recreation, light housekeeping, personal care, meal time, community and school activities.
Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent degree
- Valid New York State Driver’s License with a good driving record as determined by the Agency
- Minimum of 1 year of employment experience in the child welfare field working with children and/or adolescents in a social service setting
- Proficient in computer and documentation skills
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred)
- Related education and experience
- Strong personal interest in a variety of life activities
- Related skills, training, or certificates
