Of Job The Integrated English Teacher will join our Career and Technical Education (CTE) program to collaboratively plan, co-teach, and develop a rigorous, industry-relevant English curriculum. The ideal candidate possesses expertise in English Language Arts instruction, a strong commitment to interdisciplinary teaching, and familiarity with the foundational principles of the Science of Reading, particularly at the commencement (high school) level in New York State.

Termsof Employment
- Full-time, 10-month, tenure track assignment.

- Master's degree preferred;
Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field required. - Valid New York State Certification in English Language Arts (7-12) required.
- Additional certification or experience in Special Education or TESOL/Bilingual Education is preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching experience, preferably at the high school level.
- Proven experience in curriculum writing and assessment development.
- Demonstrated knowledge of effective co-teaching models and strategies for integrated instruction.
- Strong understanding of the Science of Reading framework and its application to commencement-level literacy instruction, including advanced vocabulary, morphology, syntax, and complex comprehension strategies.
- Collaborative Planning and Co-Teaching – Work closely and consistently with CTE instructors to design integrated lesson plans that weave ELA standards into technical content. Co-teach CTE courses, employing a variety of co-teaching models (e.g., team teaching, parallel teaching, station teaching) to support diverse learners and reinforce both academic and technical skills.
- Design and implement an integrated ELA curriculum (commencement level) that aligns with New York State Next Generation Learning Standards and supports student achievement in CTE pathways.
- Utilize industry-based documents, technical manuals, professional journals, and career-specific texts as core instructional materials for ELA instruction (e.g., analyzing persuasive memos, evaluating technical reports, developing professional correspondence).
- Develop performance-based assessments that require students to apply ELA skills within a CTE context (e.g., preparing a mock proposal, presenting a technical brief, writing a reflective piece on an internship experience).
- Apply principles and instructional strategies rooted in the Science of Reading to enhance literacy development, focusing on complex text comprehension, academic vocabulary acquisition, and writing skills necessary for college and career readiness.
- Provide targeted instruction in disciplinary literacy, teaching students how to read, write, and communicate effectively within the specific content area of the CTE program.
- Analyze student data to inform instruction, track student progress toward ELA and technical proficiency goals, and implement necessary interventions.
