Summary:

The eLearning Designer III supports Nuvance Health hospitals and medical practices in creating and managing high-quality online learning experiences for employees across various disciplines. The eLearning Designer III is responsible, or serves as a lead for the analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of eLearning products and teaching instructional developed content.

This role involves collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs) with minimal guidance to develop and maintain engaging course content, utilizing proven instructional design principles. The eLearning Designer III assists the IT Learning Services Manager to develop and administer comprehensive eLearning programs along with the creation of appropriate schedules, project plans and standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Instructional Design and Development: Drives efforts and serves as the lead for utilizing fundamental instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE) to analyze training needs, design engaging learning objectives, and develop effective courses.
  • Collaboration and Analysis: Conducts needs assessments and analysis in collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (for new and existing courses) then designs, develops and modified training curriculums, materials and job aids for instructor led, video, or other virtual platform. Applies adult learning practices and technologies.
  • LMS Administration: Manage and administer the learning management system (LMS), including uploading course content, tracking learner progress, generating reports, and troubleshooting technical issues for end-users. Ensure proper SCORM compliance and functionality within the LMS environment.
  • Course Maintenance and Updates: Review and revise existing course materials with quality assurance checks regularly to reflect changes in policy, procedure, or technology, ensuring all content remains relevant and accurate.
  • Projects and educational initiatives: As required for IT-driven projects including by not limited to: eLearning, teaching, at-the elbow support (remotely or onsite as required) and LMS functions.
  • Maintains and Models Nuvance Health Values.
  • Demonstrates regular, reliable and predictable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Education and Experience Requirements:
    • Bachelor’s degree in education, technology, management, organizational development, or comparable fields of study, or equivalent experience in lieu of minimum education.
    • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in workplace eLearning design and as an instructional educator.
    Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements:
    • Expert level in instructional design, course development with healthcare experience preferred.
    • Expert with Learning Management Systems (LMS) administration and functions.
    • Expert proficiency with eLearning authoring tools such as Adobe Captivate, Tech Smith Camtasia, and illustrative software (Photoshop and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), to (Publisher, Photoshop) to create eLearning and educational content.
    • Expert level experience utilizing software (Articulate, Captivate, Publisher or equivalent) along with MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) to create eLearning and educational content. Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to translate technical information into understandable learning content.
    • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design theories.
    • Detail-oriented with strong project management and organizational abilities.
    • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
