**** The Department of Cognitive Science invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position, to begin August 2026. Candidates in all areas of cognitive science are invited to apply.

* Job Description:
**** The successful candidate will be committed to teaching and research in cognitive science as a discipline in its own right with its integrative multidisciplinary perspective on mind and agency no matter what forms they take. The position involves teaching courses at the introductory, intermediate, and advanced levels of the curriculum. The teaching load is five courses: three courses in one semester, two in the other.
Possible courses to teach include Introduction to Cognitive Science, Perception & Action, Qualitative Methods, the Autonomous Robotics Competition, and intermediate or advanced courses in the candidate's area of interest.
Preference will be given to candidates who evidence a breadth of interest appropriate to a liberal arts undergraduate institution. PhD is required and must be in hand by the time of appointment.

** The annual base starting salary range for this position is $89,000 to $93,000 (USD).
