Position Title

Assistant Professor, MSW Program

Job Summary

The Social Work & Sociology department in the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences is seeking a full-time Assistant Professor of Social Work to serve both our on-ground BSW program and our online MSW program. While the majority of course assignments will be in the MSW program, at least one course each semester will be in the undergraduate BSW program. This tenure track position will begin in the fall of 2026.

Our new online MSW program opened successfully in June 2025 to robust enrollment. We are under review by CSWE and have completed Benchmark 2 and are awaiting results from the Board of Accreditation (BOA) at CSWE in March 2026 with the confidence that we are moving forward with the final phase of the accreditation cycle—Benchmark 3. The MSW online program requires faculty to work intentionally to provide interactive course content that includes providing weekly recorded lectures, and engaging content that promotes critical thinking, active learning, and academic rigor.

We seek dynamic faculty who model the knowledge, skills, and values necessary for ethical practice. The MSW is a new program, and the BSW program has been accredited for more than 20 years. We welcome colleagues interested in working with us to create best practices for training our students. The applicant is expected to work with all team members to support our ongoing review by CSWE as we seek accreditation for the MSW program.
