BUS DRIVERS / CUSTODIAL – Poughkeepsie City School District

• Meets Civil Service qualifications for position.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License B with P&S endorsements.

This work involves the operation of an automotive vehicle used to transport students and/or passengers, and the primary/secondary responsibility for building cleaning, operation and minor maintenance activities in a school.

• Operates on a school bus on a regular schedule and/or special occasions; checks the operating condition of the bus before starting on a trip; reports any defects to superior; maintains orderly conduct of passengers on bus.
• Participates in all building cleaning and minor maintenance activities; checks to ensure that buildings are cleaned, locked and in readiness for all activities.
• Keeps simple activity records.

Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, certifications, credentials and evaluation of service. Personal interviews shall be conducted where appropriate.

In accordance with the CSEA contract, $47,172 - $54,186.
