Job SummaryThe Marist University English Department is looking for qualified part‑time faculty to teach undergraduate courses for the Academic Year. The position requires foundation writing, introductory literature, professional writing, and theatre courses. All classes are offered in‑person at the Marist campus in Poughkeepsie, New York.
Minimum Qualifications- Master’s degree in English, Writing, Theatre, or a closely related field.
- Previous successful college‑level teaching experience.
- Write for College: required research and argumentative writing course; may also teach Introduction to Professional Writing or Introduction to Creative Writing.
- Literature courses: teach classes in the Core/Liberal Studies general education requirement sequence, including Classics of Western Literature, World Literature, and thematic courses such as Medicine and Literature.
- Theatre: teach Introduction to Theatre, serving also as a Core Public Presentation course.
- Teach three to nine semester credit hours each semester during fall and spring semesters.
Doctorate or ABD.
