Art Teacher
The Superintendent of Schools, Mr. Gregory Mott, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:
Art Teacher. Qualifications include New York State Certification in the content area and a graduate degree from a four-year regionally accredited college or a higher institution approved by the New York State Education Department. Duties involve planning, preparing, and delivering instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences, developing student-centered lesson plans, establishing clear objectives for all learning activities, and providing a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
The position also requires instructing and monitoring students in the use of learning materials and equipment, using relevant technology to support instruction, observing and evaluating student performance, assigning and grading class work, homework, tests, and assignments, providing feedback on student work, monitoring and encouraging individual student progress, providing guidance to students to promote educational development, maintaining accurate and complete records of student progress, preparing required reports on students and activities, managing student behavior and maintaining discipline, participating in department, school, and district meetings and professional development activities, staying current with the most recent developments in appropriate subject areas, cooperating with and participating in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the total school program, and fostering and maintaining effective communication with parents and/or guardians.
Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, certifications, credentials, and evaluation of service. Personal interviews shall be conducted where appropriate. Salary is in accordance with the PPSTA contract. Effective date is September 1, 2026. Application is open until filled.
