The Superintendent of Schools, Mr. Gregory Mott, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:
Non-certified Substitute Teachers Poughkeepsie City School District
Qualifications:
- Candidates must have a High School Diploma
- Candidates must have 60 college credits in an educational field
- Candidates must be fingerprinted
Duties:
The Poughkeepsie City School District (PCSD) is committed to providing students and parents with pathways to opportunity that will lead to achievement and success. Duties are normally performed in a school/classroom environment and are intended to meet the educational needs of students when the regular teacher is absent.
Responsibilities:
- Non-certified Substitute Teachers:
Are required to follow the established curriculum and lesson plans provided by the regular classroom teacher - Should check in at the main office of their assigned school location with the Principal's secretary
- Should report to the school office at the time listed in the AESOP substitute system, and are required to stay ten minutes after school ending time
- Are required to stay for the entire workday as scheduled by AESOP
- Must comply with all district and building procedures and schedules
- Must follow the lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the regular classroom teacher they are filling in for
- Assumes responsibility for overseeing classroom management
- Should not leave students unsupervised at any time
- Are expected to move around the classroom spending time instructing and helping students
Appointment:
Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, certifications, credentials and evaluation of service. Personal interviews shall be conducted where appropriate.
Salary:
Daily Rate: $150 per day
