Job Description:

Summary:

Dutchess Community College is seeking to hire a part-time test proctor to work 15 hours per week. This position would be responsible for administering and proctoring exams for licensures, certifications, course placement, and classes. For a detailed list of this position's tasks, please see the responsibilities. Hours of positions will include evenings and occasional weekends.

Responsibilities:

* Interact with outside testing companies to create and maintain testing availability and calendars.

* Maintain testing schedule by assisting students with scheduling questions and sending faculty notifications.

* Contact students to confirm and provide instructions for testing day, assist testers with questions.

* Confirm tester identities using IDs and handprint technology, enable or provide exams for testers.

* Maintain and update administrative and testing stations with vendor software upgrades when necessary and keep equipment in working order.

* Proctor all student and non-student testing including, but not limited to approved accommodative testing, Ability to Benefit Testing, TEAS tests, make-up testing, placement and proficiency tests, exams for students from other colleges, CLEP, and certification exams.

* Prior to testing, explain to students testing procedures and for placement tests, explain the purpose of the test is for course placement.

* Explain and clarify tests instructions for students.

* Utilize accessibility software programs such as Read & Write Gold, Kurzweil, Dragon Naturally Speaking, and Zoom Text.

* Print out and distribute test results to students and explain to students what offices they need to visit next.

* Scan completed class tests to instructors, scan and index test referrals and placement score reports into Banner.

* Respond to faculty, student and customer emails.

* Be knowledgeable of the different campus offices' functions to make referrals when needed.

* Maintain integrity of testing environment (check 's, calculators, monitor testers throughout testing sessions).

* Maintain attendance of rosters of students utilize testing services.

* Ensure security of all testing materials.

* Make sure the testers experience at the Testing Center is a pleasant and positive one.

* Participate in yearly online trainings such as certification to be able to proctor tests.

* Report equipment malfunctions to HELP desk and Coordinator of Testing.

* Attend department meetings and workshops that enhance professional development.

* Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

* Advanced computer skills and technical experience for trouble shooting and resolving technical issues.

* Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, Windows applications, internet, and email.

* Ability to work independently in a quiet environment, learn detailed procedures, multi-task, and prioritize.

* Bachelor's Degree.

* Flexible schedule and good interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience with administration of standardized testing such as CLEP, Pearson VUE, and DANTES.

* Community college experience.

* Customer service experience

Additional Information:

The High Stakes Test Proctor is a part-time, temporary position at 15 hours per week.

Working Conditions:

* The performance of this work is primarily in-person and on-site.

* Flexible hours are required.

Class: DUE/ Non-teaching Educator

Salary: $28.97 per hour
