The Superintendent of Schools, Mr. Gregory Mott, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:

Qualifications:
- Candidates must possess a Master's degree in a STEM-related field and a New York State School District Administrator (SDA) or School District Leader (SDL) certificate.
- Proven experience in STEM-related instructional leadership.
- Expertise in Mathematics, Technology, Engineering, Science, or related STEM fields.
- Demonstrated success with curriculum development and instructional coaching.
- Strong understanding of state and national standards, including the NYS Next Generation Standards, New York State Science Learning Standards, and New York State's Portrait of a Graduate.
- Experience facilitating department and grade-level team meetings.
- Ability to work effectively with department chairs and teacher leaders.
- Familiarity with HQIM, MTSS frameworks, and evidence-based instructional practices.
- Strong skills in assessment, data analysis, and strategic planning.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive education.
- Experience with grants, Title programs, and instructional compliance.
Duties And Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, revision, and implementation of STEM curriculum (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
- Ensure rigorous alignment of the curriculum with the NYS Learning Standards and the Portrait of a Graduate.
- Promote inquiry-based, problem-based, and hands-on learning that strengthens students' ability to think critically, innovate, collaborate, and communicate effectively.
- Ensure STEM curriculum explicitly builds competencies such as adaptability, perseverance, analysis, and scientific reasoning.
- Collaborate with department chairs to develop and monitor curriculum maps, pacing guides, and common formative assessments.
- Lead the evaluation and selection process of STEM instructional materials and resources.
- Regularly collaborate with STEM department chairs to monitor instructional progress, identify needs, and set shared goals.
- Facilitate monthly PK12 STEM leadership meetings and content-area department meetings.
- Support data-driven decision-making and instructional planning during department cycles.
- Build the capacity of department chairs to lead teams, facilitate professional learning, and support colleagues.
- Plan, design, and deliver professional development focused on STEM content, enhancing content-specific discourse, inquiry-based instruction, project-based instruction, and culturally responsive practice.
- Strengthen instructional staff capacity through coaching, model lessons, and learning walks.
- Support new educators in STEM content areas.
- Promote a collaborative, reflective professional culture across all departments and schools.
- Provide professional learning on the integration of technology, engineering design, project and problem-based learning, and scientific inquiry to cultivate innovation.
- Support implementation of PK12 mathematics initiatives.
- Ensure that mathematics instruction and interventions within MTSS are aligned with research-based practices supported by New York State's Numeracy Briefs.
- Coordinate universal screeners, data analysis cycles, and progress monitoring within mathematics.
- Partner with schools and departments to develop common assessments and rubrics for STEM courses.
- Lead data analysis processes to inform instructional planning and school improvement.
- Assist departments in using classroom, benchmark, common formative assessment, and state assessment data to improve outcomes.
- Prepare and submit appropriate state and district reports related to STEM instruction.
- Advance district initiatives promoting culturally responsive instruction and equitable access to rich STEM experiences.
- Expand access to STEM courses, enrichment opportunities, CTE pathways, robotics, coding, and project-based learning that promote equity and prepare students for future careers.
- Build partnerships with industry, higher education, and community organizations to increase STEM experiences tied to communication, civic problem-solving, and global competence.
- Build strong partnerships with families, community organizations, and arts/cultural institutions to support mathematics learning.
- Promote instructional practices that amplify student voice, critical inquiry, civic engagement, and global awareness.
- Support the planning and management of budgets related to STEM instruction, materials, and Title funding.
- Contribute to grant writing, monitoring, and compliance for STEM initiatives.
- Assist in planning and implementing district-level strategic initiatives connected to STEM programs that accelerate student innovation.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned in support of district goals and the Superintendent's Call to Action.
