Nursing Assistant Instructor
General statement of job:
The Adult Learning Institute (ALI) is seeking an experienced instructor to lead a comprehensive training course for individuals interested in becoming a Nursing Assistant.

Qualifications, experience and competencies:
Applicant must be a Registered Nurse with at least two years' experience in a nursing home setting. Prior experience must also include supervision and instruction of Nurse Assistants.
Knowledge, skills and abilities duties and responsibilities:
The chosen candidate will teach a course curriculum as prescribed by the NY State Health Department and the NY State Education Department requirements for students to successfully achieve their Nursing Assistant certification, determined by passing the NY State proctored Prometrics test. Instruction will include both classroom and in-lab clinical experiences. In addition, the instructor will be responsible for related duties as required, including tracking student attendance/hours (clinical and theory), test proctoring, and collaboration with other teachers/staff assigned to the Health Occupations Academy s individual must coordinate expected curriculum, conduct practical training and perform all competency evaluations, as well as oversee clinical rotations at a contracted local nursing home.
All students are 18 years of age or older. Please note that this is an evening class with hours that will run three evenings per week from 5:30-9:30pm. This class is a team-teaching opportunity, and is a grant-funded program for students whose native language is not English (ESOL). There will be an ESOL instructor present. Salary: $45 per hour
