Job Summary

The role of academic advisor is to regularly meet with students in developing their four-year course planning by ensuring that pathways are chosen by the end of the first year, academic and proper degree requirements are met, and student is on a path for success throughout their four years le this is of most importance during the registration advising period, academic advisors readily answer student questions as they arise, assist when a student is struggling in a course and offer insight and guidance on opportunities to purse such internships and study abroad.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Advising experience in higher education
Essential Functions
  • Meet individually with students in person
  • Answer student emails and phone calls
  • Consult with SCA Director of Advising and Department Chairs
  • Participate in school and department meetings and attend necessary trainings
  • Other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters Degree
  • Professional experience in Communications, Art, Fashion, or Film/TV
  • 1-3 years experience in academic advising
