Accountant, Financial Reporting, Financial Analyst

Job Description

• Bank and credit card reconciliations and routine close activities
• Recording cash activity, accounts payable/receivable, and mark-to-market journal entries
• Maintain and update fixed asset schedules and supporting documentation
• Archiving bank, broker, and investment-related statements and confirmations
• Managing monthly closes and preparing standard quarterly reporting packages for internal review
• Maintaining organized financial, legal, and accounting records
• Reviewing, processing, and recording expenses in accordance with established approvals
• Managing and executing approved cash movements to support liquidity
• Administering the day-to-day accounting and tracking of alternative investments and externally managed portfolios
• Preparing periodic investment performance summaries and capital activity reports for internal review
• Serving as the primary day-to-day point of contact with outside investment managers regarding new potential investments, ongoing portfolio performance reporting, meetings, and execution of approved investment-related cash movements
• Interfacing with outside tax advisors by providing requested financial information and coordinating approved tax payments

• 5+ years of experience in an accounting or financial administration role at a family office, investment firm, hedge fund, or accounting firm
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to execute within defined processes
• High degree of discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information
• Excellent professional references
• Desire to live and work in the Hudson Valley
