Position: Deposit Operations Specialist I
Location: City of Poughkeepsie

Overview

Hudson Valley Credit Union is currently recruiting for the position of Deposit Operations Specialist I. Primary Function: perform duties required to verify, balance, image and send adjustment notices for transactions received via mail, ATM, and Mobile Banking. Assist members with ATM inquiries and transaction resolution. Process a variety of tasks to support operations needs such as internal department transaction requests, general ledger reconciliation, dormancy releases, check orders, fees for returned items and document scanning.

Responsibilities
  • Receive, open, sort and proof incoming mail and ATM transactions utilizing various mail opening equipment. Examine contents and endorsements to ensure signature requirements and prevent potential fraud.
  • Operate image processing equipment. Balance processed work to deposit slips, remittance advices, or various control documents through PC-based software systems and standard office equipment. Ensures accuracy of data on documents, making corrections as needed to ensure proper posting and/or customer reporting. Perform additional data entry as required.
  • Prepare cash, checks and other items for further processing by other areas or for transit dispatch. Extract, balance, and execute various transmissions to internal departments based on procedure. Identify items that are unable to be processed and handle them according to established procedures.
  • Process problem resolution for ATM service requests and conduct general ledger reconciliation. Process address changes for returned plastics, post fees, and respond to ATM related inquiries.
  • Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained knowledge. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED) certificate, or state authorized high school equivalent certificate required
