Job Overview

Essential Responsibilities- Assist in the delivery of patient care by performing specific patient care tasks per scope of service and as directed by leadership and/or surgical team.
- Communicate effectively and frequently with health care team members to share information and solve problems in a positive, result‑oriented manner.
- Utilize available educational materials, programs, literature, and resource personnel for career development and attend mandatory in‑services to maintain unit competencies.
- Adhere to Organization Infection Control practices, and established safety and security policies, including patient identifiers whenever transporting patients and/or providing additional patient care.
- Assist with appropriate tasks in all code situations (e.g., CPR, obtaining equipment) under the direction of the Surgical Services Team.
- Assist with room set‑ups and clean‑ups, including identifying and gathering appropriate positioning devices, equipment, and supplies for operations/procedures.
- Assist the health care team with positioning and transferring the surgical/procedural patient.
- Assist with maintaining the general cleanliness and appearance of areas on the unit, including:
- Cleansing surgical/procedural rooms after each use.
- Terminally cleaning operating/procedural rooms regularly and per Infection Control policy.
- Cleans all equipment required for operations and/or procedures as assigned.
- Cleans other areas within the department such as storage areas, hallways, core, control desk, workrooms, and any other area deemed necessary.
- Run errands within and outside the department and communicate appropriately and efficiently with all parties prior to leaving and upon return.
- Utilize resources and respond appropriately (e.g., voceras, overhead pages, phone calls, etc.).
Education
:
Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
General Knowledge
:
High school subject matter including sciences.
Preferred Knowledge
:
Some medical procedures/terminology. BLS certification required within 90 days of hire date.

Some manual skills/motor coordination and finger dexterity. - Occupational:
