The Banquet Porter Manager supervises the day-to-day activities of the Set-Up/Porter Crew, coordinates event room configurations and setups, and ensures that established cleanliness, sanitation, and presentation standards are consistently maintained. The Banquet Porter Manager will work closely with management and other departments to ensure that event spaces are prepared accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.

- Supervise, train, and direct the Set-Up/Cleaning Crew in daily cleaning, setup, and maintenance responsibilities.
- Assign daily tasks and ensure responsibilities are completed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Monitor employee performance, attendance, appearance, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Maintain appropriate staffing and coverage for events and operational needs.
- Inspect completed work and address cleanliness, organization, and setup deficiencies promptly.
- Communicate operational needs, staffing concerns, maintenance issues, and other matters to management.
- Assist with training employees on proper cleaning methods, equipment use, safety procedures, and event setup standards.
- Hold employees accountable for maintaining established cleanliness, organization, and performance standards.
- Promote a professional, respectful, and team-oriented work environment.
- Oversee the setup and breakdown of banquet and cocktail areas for weddings, parties, meetings, and other events.
- Ensure rooms are configured according to event specifications and management instructions.
- Oversee the placement and removal of tables, chairs, linens, and other event equipment.
- Ensure tables and designated areas are properly set and ready prior to guest arrival.
- Coordinate with management and other departments regarding event setup requirements and timing.
- Ensure event spaces remain clean, organized, and properly maintained throughout operations.
- Respond promptly to last-minute setup, cleaning, and operational needs during events.
- Ensure the Set-Up/Porter Crew is prepared to meet changing event needs and schedules.
- Oversee and perform light maintenance duties as assigned.
- Identify and report maintenance, safety, or facility concerns to management.
- Assist with basic upkeep of the building and outdoor areas.
- Assist with gardening and general grounds maintenance as needed.
- Ensure storage areas, equipment, and work areas remain clean, organized, and properly maintained.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
- Follow all company safety, sanitation, and operational procedures.
- Respond appropriately to verbal requests and visual cues in a loud and fast-paced environment.
- Work cooperatively with management and other departments to support successful event operations.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
- Minimum of two (2) years of prior supervisory or management experience required.
- Prior experience in commercial cleaning, facilities, hospitality, banquet operations, or a similar environment required.
- Previous experience supervising a cleaning, porter, housekeeping, setup, or facilities team strongly preferred.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize, delegate, and follow up on tasks.
- Ability to inspect work and hold employees accountable to established standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while also working effectively with management and other departments.
- Must be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required by business and event needs.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, event-driven environment with changing priorities.
- Ability to withstand temperatures of 0 degrees Fahrenheit or less and 100 degrees Fahrenheit or greater for periods of 30 minutes or more.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds for distances of up to 100 feet.
- Ability to frequently walk, stand, bend, stoop, push, pull, and move throughout the property during shifts.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including up to 5 hours at a time.
- Ability to understand and respond to verbal requests and visual cues in a loud and extremely busy environment.
