Make and repair tools and dies associated with bearing manufacture, including precision production bearing grinding and assembly. Make and repair tools and dies associated with sheet metal forming and fabricating related to the bearing industry.
Requirements, Essential Duties, and Responsibilities- Reads blueprint and job order for product specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, heat treating, etc.
- Able to reverse engineer tooling from final product.
- Minimum five of years’ experience in Tool Room environment.
- Full knowledge and understanding of manual Mills, Lathes, precision grinding and finishing equipment.
- Knowledge and experience in heat treating, soldering and brazing.
- Knowledge of various material cutting, grinding, and heat treating characteristics (O1, W1, M50, 52100, 4140, D2, carbide).
- Skilled in blueprint drafting.
- Knowledge of mechanical properties and limitations of stated materials.
- Knowledge of mechanics of moving parts in working tools and dies.
- Excellent shop math skills a priority.
- Knowledge of 5S, Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma principles.
