Key Responsibilities of the Travel Post Partum Nurse:
Provide direct nursing care to postpartum mothers and newborns, including monitoring vital signs, assessing physical and emotional well-being, and assisting with recovery
Support breastfeeding initiation and provide lactation education to new mothers
Administer medications and pain management as prescribed
Educate parents on newborn care, postpartum recovery, and warning signs for complications
Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care
Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in accordance with hospital standards
Adhere to infection control, safety, and patient confidentiality policies
Provide compassionate emotional support to families adjusting to new parenthood

Requirements  of the Travel Post Partum Nurse:
Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) license
Current BLS and NRP certifications
At least years 2 of Post Partum experience required
