Certified Nurse Midwife position at Optum in Poughkeepsie, New York.

• Collegial multispecialty group practice with a large referral base

• Full complement of clinical and administrative support teams, including a dedicated Medical Assistant for each provider

• Participate in initial examination of obstetrical patients and collaborate with the MD to share responsibility for care, treatment, and delivery of patients
• Examine patients during pregnancy, using physical findings, laboratory test results, and patient statements to evaluate condition and ensure patient progress is normal
• Discuss cases with Obstetrician to assure observation of specified practices
• Instruct patients in diet and prenatal health practices
• Stay with patients during labor to reassure them and administer medication
• Deliver infants and perform postpartum examinations and treatments to ensure patients and infants are responding normally

• Master’s degree and Midwifery certificate
• Completion of a Midwifery Education Program
• Four years of clinical Midwifery experience, with references
• Current NYS Midwife License and AMCB certification

Salary range: $117,500 to $165,500 annually based on full-time employment.
