Location: City of Poughkeepsie
Role Overview
The Subspecialty Surgical PA Service at Vassar Brothers Medical Center is seeking a full‑time board‑certified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join its surgical APP team.
Responsibilities- Manage in‑house shifts, caring for surgical floor patients in specialties such as Urology and Gyn‑Oncology.
- Perform history and physicals for consultations or admissions from the emergency department or inpatient floors for the surgery department.
- Confer with attending physicians, nursing staff, and other advanced practice providers to develop a plan of care and ensure optimal quality patient care.
- Provide coverage on holidays, weekends, and call obligations; 40‑hour work week (7 a.m. to 5 p.m.) with a four‑day work week.
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program and NCCPA certified, or a Nurse Practitioner with licensure.
- BLS and ACLS certification required.
- New York State license to practice as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
- New graduates will be considered.
Highly competitive compensation package of $125,000 to $160,000 annually, comprehensive benefits, and generous allowances for CME and professional dues/expenses. The position offers opportunities for growth in O.R. first assisting.
