NP/PA PRN Opportunity

Summary:

To provide primary medical care, under the supervision of a physician, and assist patients to recover from acute illnesses and minimize the effects of chronic illnesses.

• Assess the patient's condition by obtaining a complete medical history, obtaining physical data, and reviewing the patient's medical record.
• Follow accepted standards of medical practice and follow departmental policies and procedures to assure service with proper risk management.
• Order the appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures required to evaluate the illness.
• Interpret and integrate data to determine the appropriate diagnosis and therapeutic treatment plan.
• Consult with supervising physicians in accordance with policies and medical standards to assure patient and physician satisfaction.
• Record all symptoms, objective findings, assessment, treatment plan and other information that is appropriate in the patient's chart, review and sign the record.
• Instruct the patient and family regarding the patient's diagnosis, testing, treatment, expected outcome and future prevention.
• Evaluate the outcome of the treatment plan by reviewing the diagnostic results, calling the patient, and/or requesting a return visit.
• Perform organizational responsibilities to achieve the organization's mission through a process of total quality improvement.
• Fulfill all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required:

CT State PA license. DEA/State controlled substance required.

Minimum Experience:

three years

Manual: significant manual skills/motor coordination & finger dexterity.

Occupational:
Some occupational risk.

Physical Effort:
Medium to Heavy effort. May exert up to 35 lbs. force.

Physical Environment:
Some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
