Local Contract Nurse RN - Labor and Delivery

Job Summary

WCS Healthcare Partners is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse for a 13‑week local contract position in Poughkeepsie, New York. The role involves 36 hours per week on a 12‑hour night shift (3 days per week).

• Assess and categorize patients into the appropriate level of care
• Apply and interpret external fetal monitoring, including fetal heart tracings and uterine activity
• Implement timely interventions based on fetal heart rate patterns and maternal condition
• Identify and respond to obstetric emergencies, escalating to providers appropriately
• Administer medications safely in accordance with the Five Rights and infection‑control standards
• Perform pain assessments and reassess per clinical guidelines
• Assist physicians and midwives during labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum care

• Active New York State RN License
• NRP – Advanced
• BLS
• NCC C‑EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
• AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
• 3+ years of current Labor & Delivery experience
• Experience in a high‑risk OB setting
• Strong background in managing obstetric emergencies
