• Utilizes the principles of management, philosophies, policies and goals of the institution and nursing department to ensure consistent, high quality patient care.
• Assumes administrative responsibility to maintain smooth, efficient hospital functions.
• Utilizes the principles of the nursing process to provide for continuity and quality of nursing care administered to a specific group ofneonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult or geriatric patients.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to the age of the patient served on the nursing unit or by patient care departments.

• Requires basic knowledge of nursing.
• Graduate from accredited nursing program.
  • Preferred BA, BS or BBA with a major in nursing, health care administration, business administration, or psychology.

• Aminimum of five years of experience in Staff Nurse with Charge Nurse or Assistant Nursing Manager role to acquire skills and knowledge of the jobis preferred.

• Current New YorkStateR.N. license.
• BLS required

Physical: Requires prolonged standing, walking, or other constant physical movements on a routine basis and frequent lifting of moderately heavy items, i.e., 20-40 lbs.

Mental: Nature of work frequently requires considerable or heavy workload, highly irregular, and unpredictable long hours, placing heavy demands on home and/or social life; and there may be considerable work pressures requiring delicate or potentially serious matters.

Occasional exposure to occupational hazards or contagious disease which requires routine precautions.
