Licensed Veterinary Technician – Full Time or Part Time — Poughkeepsie, NY

Community Animal Care is looking for a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our awesome team! If you love helping pets, supporting clients, and working with a fun, compassionate group of people, you’ll fit right in.
Our hospital is well-equipped with digital radiography, digital dental Xray, inhouse lab equipment, and ultrasound. We’re also a paperless practice, using Ezy Vet and Scribble Vet dictation software to make charting and clinical taking fast and efficient. You’ll have all the tools you need to do your best work.

- Communicate well with coworkers and clients
- Can juggle tasks in a busy environment
- Has strong technical skills and a passion for patient care
- Is available for evenings and Saturday rotations
- Is a Licensed Veterinary Technician in NYS (required)
- Assisting veterinarians during exams and entering notes into Ezy Vet
- Drawing blood, placing catheters, and collecting lab samples
- Running and sometimes interpreting lab tests (fecals, urinalysis, cytology, etc.)
- Taking diagnostic images
- Administering and monitoring anesthesia
- Prepping for and helping with surgeries
- Performing dental cleanings
- Giving vaccines and medications
- Filling prescriptions and reviewing instructions with clients
- Providing kind, gentle care to every patient
