Location: City of Poughkeepsie

About the Role Based in Poughkeepsie, NY, our full-time FSQA Technician safeguards product integrity on the 2nd shift (1:00 PM – 9:00 PM, or until production wraps) with a shift differential. You’ll be the on-the-floor champion of food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance—translating standards into daily practice and documentation.

A Day in the Life You clock in just before 1 PM, review the day’s HACCP plan, and confirm pre-op sanitation is signed off. As lines start, you monitor CCPs and Preventive Controls, verify metal detection checks, and tour the floor for GMP compliance. When a deviation appears, you document it, escalate promptly, and help drive root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Throughout the shift, you capture precise, audit-ready records and collaborate with production and leadership to keep quality on track. Before you leave, you prep samples for testing, support environmental monitoring, and ready files for SQF, FDA, and customer audits.

What You’ll DoPerform in-process and finished product inspections against defined food safety and quality standards.

Monitor and document CCPs and Preventive Controls in alignment with HACCP plans.

Conduct pre-operational inspections verifying sanitation and food safety readiness.

Complete accurate quality records, logs, and production documentation for audits.

Verify GMP adherence and company food safety policies across the production floor.

Identify, document, and escalate non-conformances; support corrective and preventive actions.

Conduct and verify metal detection checks.

Assist with root cause investigations on quality deviations.

Support SQF, FDA, and customer audit preparation and ongoing compliance.

Collect samples and contribute to testing and environmental monitoring programs.

Communicate quality concerns clearly with production and leadership teams.

What You Bring Experience in quality assurance or food safety within food manufacturing (strongly preferred).Working knowledge of HACCP, SQF, GMPs, and applicable food safety regulations.

Exceptional attention to detail with audit-ready documentation habits.

Ability to recognize deviations and follow escalation protocols.

Comfort operating on a fast-paced production floor.

Clear written and verbal communication.

Basic computer proficiency for data entry and documentation systems.

Preferred Background in SQF-certified facilities.

Familiarity with customer, regulatory, and third-party audit processes.

Shift: 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM (or until production is complete). Shift differential applies.

Important:
This position focuses on food safety, quality monitoring, and documentation. It is not a maintenance or equipment repair role.
