Location: City of Poughkeepsie

Compensation

Pay Range: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour, equal to or exceeding the minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses, or premiums that may be paid in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if the applicable criteria are met.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the store team members in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
  • Supervise customer service programs on the retail showroom, including execution of programs such as Related sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, and Rock the Lot.
  • Work with the store manager to ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed, especially during peak retail hours.
  • Assist the store manager in setting team member goals, providing feedback, coaching/mentoring, and ensuring team members stay current on individual training.
  • Assist in the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling and participating in interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management to select qualified team members.
  • Ensure the telephone is answered according to company policy.
  • Ensure all buy online/ship to store, hub and store-to-store transfers, and DC add orders are processed promptly and customers are contacted upon shipment arrival.
  • Utilize the electronic outside purchase order ledger to handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently and according to procedure.
  • Process retail customer returns and exchanges in an efficient and friendly manner, issue refunds accurately, and stage returned merchandise correctly.
  • Invoice all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, before product leaves the store.
  • Communicate Zipline messages and delegate Image Maker and merchandising tasks as assigned.
  • Ensure all team members comply with company policies, including adherence to posted work schedules, approval of deviations by management, and proper clock‑in/out procedures.
  • Perform store opening and closing duties, including day‑end procedures, verifying and securing money deposits, preparing bank deposits, ensuring night security lights are on, locking doors, arming/disarming alarms, and securing delivery vehicles.
  • Assist the store manager in maintaining the store building, parking lot, exterior signage, lighting, computer hardware, in‑store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Required:

    Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification, and RSS Certification.
  • Desired:
    Certified Parts Professional Certification; ASE Certification.
  • Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).
