IT’SUGAR is an energetic candy retailer that values humor and creativity. With over 100 locations nationwide, we look for a dynamic Retail Assistant Store Manager to lead daily store operations, drive sales, and create a memorable customer experience.
What you’ll doLead the store as the manager on duty and collaborate with the Store Manager to meet sales goals, improve productivity, and foster a positive team environment.
- Oversee daily operations and ensure sales objectives are met.
- Evaluate operations and recommend actions to enhance productivity, efficiency, effectiveness, and profitability.
- Hold self and staff accountable for sales goals and metrics.
- Coach and train Sales Associates to build a productive work environment.
- Demonstrate a positive, enthusiastic brand‑proud attitude aligned with core values.
- Follow the SUGARTAINMENT customer engagement model.
- Promote safety for customers and associates by adhering to company guidelines.
- Partner with the Store Manager to identify challenges and present solutions.
- Proactively network and recruit qualified candidates for all positions, seeking internal or external talent that builds authentic relationships.
- Assist the Store Manager in selecting, training, and coaching Associates and Supervisors while ensuring policies and procedures are followed.
- Follow up on customer requests for specific items and suggest additional products.
- Use selling skills to explain benefits, features, price, quality, value, and other product information.
- Create a collaborative selling culture and ensure Associates and Supervisors are trained in all IT’SUGAR selling programs.
- Maintain cash handling records, reports, and opening/closing procedures.
- Review merchandise orders and inventory levels for accuracy.
- Merchandise and set displays per visual guidelines.
- Capture customer information to enhance sales and maintain a client file.
- Plan, coordinate, and set up special events and promotions.
- Communicate product recommendations to increase sales and manage inventory.
- Follow Loss Prevention policies and report issues to the Store Manager.
- Perform operational duties including sales floor/backroom/restroom maintenance, cleaning, and mopping.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2‑3 years of retail experience (preferred). Prior sales and management experience in a retail environment preferred.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Proficient in using a POS/cash register.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and handle items for long durations; lift up to 25 lbs independently, up to 50 lbs with assistance.
