For the Deli Salad Chef, this means delivering prompt, friendly service, preparing and handling food with care and accuracy, working precisely, yet speedily, when filling catering orders, and using product knowledge to assist customers with their selections and special orders.

• Provide friendly, knowledgeable service and assist customers with deli orders and catering selections
• When a customer needs assistance, give the customer priority over the task at hand
• Prepare daily deli salads, ensuring that the product used is fresh and that the presentation meets Adams’ quality standards
• Take customer orders and work with Homesome software to assure accuracy
• Create new and seasonal recipes for deli salads
• Stock and rotate deli products, ensuring freshness, proper labeling, and attractive displays
• Maintain full knowledge of deli offerings, including pricing and sale items
• Be the front line of quality control to ensure all items are prepared and ready to go for catering orders
• Prepare salads, sandwiches, and fresh slice items as assigned
• Clean slicers, tools, and work areas, and help keep the deli department organized and sanitary

• Willingness to work collaboratively and communicate with a team of co-workers and managers
• Exhibit enthusiasm, positivity and knowledge about Adams’ products and quality
• Must work efficiently and at a productive pace per department needs

• Must be 18 years old
• Consistently move, adjust, and position items weighing up to 25 pounds
• Safely Operate deli slicers and other equipment necessary to operate the department
• Ability to remain in a stationary position for duration of a shift
• Effectively communicate with others and work in a productive/fast pace environment
• Occasionally ascend/descend a stepstool, stepladder, and/or ladder
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers for duration of shift
• Communicate with others to exchange information
• Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in tight and confined spaces
• Use the compactor and cardboard crusher for disposing of garage and cardboard

The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions – including skill sets, experience, training, certifications and other business needs.
