About the Role
The Cardiometabolic Care Sales Team is responsible for selling Novo Nordisk’s cardiometabolic product portfolio, including therapies for diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular events.
Key Responsibilities- Implement marketing and sales strategies to achieve sales goals and promote products to healthcare professionals.
- Maintain relationships with physicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and other healthcare staff.
- Analyze payer markets, including Medicare, Commercial, and Medicaid benefit designs, and impact on customer decisions.
- Identify business opportunities by understanding territory customer groups and tailor approach.
- Analyze bidding policies/contracts to influence formulary status.
- Develop and maintain business‑relevant relationships with prescribers, support staff, pharmacies, and clinic administrators.
- Apply the Novo Nordisk Edge Selling Model, including pre‑call planning, customer engagement, objection handling, and call to action.
- Use analytical tools to evaluate territory business opportunities and create business plans.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, manage samples and promotional budgets, and exercise control over company property.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of disease states, treatment options, and NNI approved clinical studies.
- Participate in training, conferences, and product knowledge sessions.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and comply with driving safety policies.
Externally, the candidate works with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other paramedical staff. Internally, reports to the District Business Manager and collaborates with field‑based employees covering the same geographic areas.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s or equivalent degree, or Pharm‑D required.
- Minimum one year of experience in pharmaceutical/healthcare, sales, consulting, customer service, or military preferred.
- Intermediate computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel). Experience with sales data/call reporting software a plus.
- Self‑starter who can evaluate options and make decisions with minimal supervision.
- Aptitude for leadership and decision‑making.
- Solid understanding of diabetes and obesity therapy areas and Novo Nordisk products.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Must not exceed Novo Nordisk points threshold based on Motor Vehicle Records.
- Base salary ranges by title:
Cardiometabolic Care Specialist I $101,000‑$124,000;
Specialist II $125,000‑$153,000;
Senior Specialist $139,000‑$170,000. - Eligible for company bonus and long‑term incentive compensation.
