Industrial and Systems Engineering in the Peninsulas - Non-Tenure Track Faculty Vacancy Pool
The Department of Engineering & Design at Western Washington University invites applications for a non-tenure-track faculty position to support the Industrial & Systems Engineering Program on the Peninsulas. This position will teach courses for a new 2+2 Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial & Systems Engineering (ISE), serving students on the Olympic Peninsula and the surrounding region. The curriculum emphasizes systems design, data analytics, operations research, human factors, quality and continuous improvement, project management, and applied learning.
PositionResponsibilities
Teach Industrial & Systems Engineering courses as directed by the ISE Program Faculty Lead and the Department Chair. Provide students with feedback, hold regular office hours, collect assessment data on student learning, and participate in accreditation efforts. Students shall evaluate the course using the standard University evaluation forms. Provide high‑quality instruction and maintain current disciplinary knowledge.
Required Qualifications- B.S. degree in Industrial & Systems Engineering or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated potential for effective teaching.
- Demonstrated commitment to an equitable and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Recent, relevant industry experience.
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Industrial & Systems Engineering or a related discipline.
- Successful teaching experience.
Must be able to travel and spend time at multiple locations, including Bremerton and Poulsbo. All employees must comply with the university’s Immunization policies, including Proof of Rubeola Measles Immunity within 60 days of hire.
CompensationCommensurate with experience and qualifications.
