About the Role

Tellers serve as the first point of contact for most clients, ensuring banking transactions are performed accurately, ethically, and in compliance with Columbia Bank procedures and applicable regulations. They maintain and enhance client relationships through meaningful conversations, identify opportunities for additional bank products and services, and handle teller transactions and cash functions with accuracy and confidentiality.

• Perform teller transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, payments, transfers, and check cashing.
• Balance the cash drawer, ATM, credit card machine, and negotiable instruments.
• Process night drop deposits, returned mail, and updates to lobby rate sheets and brochures.
• Use double custody when balancing the ATM and ensure the safekeeping of funds in the cash drawer.
• Mitigate risk by promptly accounting for or transferring funds.
• Interact with internal and external clients to anticipate needs and provide proactive solutions in line with the bank’s Breakthrough Client Service Standards.
• Continuously deepen knowledge of Columbia Bank’s product and service offerings and stay current on changes.
• Discover customers’ financial needs to identify and offer appropriate products and services.
• Support referral goals by focusing on and referring basic bank products to the appropriate business partner.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year of previous banking or customer service experience preferred.
• Bilingual ability is preferred.
• Ability to learn and comply with all Bank policies, procedures, and systems.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy with written numbers, words, and verbal and written instructions.
• Willingness to build relationships with clients and other bank associates.

The pay range for this role is $18.00 - $23.00 per hour. The exact pay rate depends upon non‑discriminatory factors such as job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. The role may also be eligible for a performance‑based incentive compensation program, details of which will be provided during the recruitment process.
