The Welder works with our engineering team and installation team to plan, fabricate, and install custom fall protection systems.

Our ideal candidate will be organized, mechanically inclined, and is familiar with common construction materials such as wood, steel, aluminum, and concrete.

• Learn, understand and adhere to company fall protection standards, safety programs and policies. Including participating in fall protection and safety training, implementing safety, recognizing unsafe situations and taking corrective actions.
• Well versed in welding and fabricating using specialty tools.
• Lead the fabrication planning process including review of fabrication drawings, development of Material Take-Offs, and prioritization of workload.
• Assist in the maintenance of documentation and inventory of in-house materials and consumables.
• Provide training, guidance, and oversight to other Gravitec Employees who may be assigned to work in the shop.
• Ability to perform basic tool maintenance to ensure longevity of service.
• Ability to complete basic Quality Control checks.
• Comfort working at height, this includes rooftops, ladders, towers and lifts. Pervious at height, fall protection and/or lift experience is desirable but not necessary.
• Ability to or willingness to learn reading of engineered drawings.
• Frequent travel is required for this opportunity.
• WABO and/or AWS Welder Certification.
• Willingness to listen and learn.
• Creative problem solving and critical thinking.
• Ability to provide innovative solutions to installation issues in a timely manner.
• Confident and articulate in written and verbal communications.
• Be effective at building collaborative relationships, functioning as part of a team as well as working independently.
• Computer knowledge and working knowledge of MS Office. Willingness to learn additional software also.
