Construction Accounting Specialist

Prestige Concrete / Prestige Contracting Inc. — Poway, CA

Build your career with a leading concrete and construction services contractor in San Diego County. We’re looking for a detail‑driven Construction Accounting Specialist to support project financials, vendor relationships, subcontractor compliance, and day‑to‑day accounting operations.

About the Role

You’ll take ownership of accounts payable, job costing, vendor documentation, lien waivers, insurance audits, and core accounting tasks that keep projects running smoothly. This is an onsite, full‑time position supporting both Prestige Concrete and Prestige Contracting Inc.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process accounts payable: verify documents, match POs, and enter vendor invoices.
  • Manage purchase orders and change orders in Quick Books.
  • Post and deposit customer payments; reconcile bank and credit card accounts monthly.
  • Prepare job cost reports and vendor analysis.
  • Maintain subcontractor contracts, COIs, and compliance documentation.
  • Handle GL and workers’ comp insurance records and support annual audits.
  • Prepare and track lien waiver releases.
  • Issue 1099s annually and maintain all job files and administrative records.
  • Support business license renewals and general office administration.
  • Provide support to Project Management team as needed.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of accounting experience;
    construction industry preferred
    .
  • Strong AP, job costing, and reconciliation skills.
  • Proficient with Quick Books and Microsoft Office 365 Suite.
  • Familiarity with lien waivers, subcontractor compliance, or insurance certificates a plus.
  • High attention to detail, strong communication, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
