We have an exciting opportunity for a System Safety Supervisor within our System Safety & RAM Engineering Group.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Support safety analysis of our Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). Programs in development support the US Air Force, along with many other US and Foreign customers.

* In this role, the successful candidate will lead a team of System Safety engineers to develop, manage, and execute System Safety Programs in accordance with military and/or commercial standards

* Act as primary contact for System Safety engineering activities for assigned platforms and contracts.

* Devises new approaches to resolve unusual or complex engineering problems.

* Communicate and clearly present system safety findings, issues, and solutions to various levels of internal and external technical and management stakeholders.

* Provide system safety support for the design assurance processes, and other related milestones such as PDRs and CDRs.

* Troubleshoot conflicting design/development requirements, difficult coordination requirements, and special material requirements.

* Participate in the preparation of proposals, proposal work statements, basis of estimates, and specifications

* Ensure technical leadership and excellence is maintained by participating in the planning, attraction, selection, retention, and development of the required professional and technical talent.

* Support the Earned Value process and ensure the team is executing within budget and meeting schedule requirements

* Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

* Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; six or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, four or more years of experience with a masters degree, or two or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.

* Familiarity with Unmanned Aircraft Systems, including Ground Control Systems, is desirable.

* Must have a thorough understanding of engineering concepts, principles, codes, and theory; experience demonstrating a broad application of those concepts; and, expanding knowledge of principles, concepts, theory, and practices in related technical specialties.

* Capable of representing the organization as a prime System Safety technical contact and lead a team of moderately experienced professional employees.

* Experience with development of System Safety Program Plans, Preliminary Hazard Analysis, Functional Hazard Analysis, Common Cause Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, Safety Critical Functional Thread Analysis, System Safety Analysis / Safety Assessment Report, clear and concise system safety requirements, and support of the Hazard Tracking System.
