Job Summary

Janitor I is an entry-level position responsible for performing routine cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a clean, sanitary, and organized environment within the facility. This role operates under direct supervision and focuses on foundational cleaning duties to uphold company standards of cleanliness and facility presentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform basic general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors in designated areas (e.g., offices, hallways, common areas).
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, urinals, sinks, and countertops; assist with restocking supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, and soap.
• Empty trash receptacles and recycling bins, replacing liners as needed.
• Wipe down common surfaces, including desks, tables, and chairs.
• Clean glass surfaces such as mirrors and interior windows.
• Dust furniture and accessible fixtures.
• Clean and maintain breakroom/kitchen areas, including wiping down counters and sinks.
• Operate basic cleaning equipment such as standard vacuum cleaners and mops.
• Report any observed maintenance issues, safety hazards, or repairs needed to the supervisor.
• Notify the supervisor when cleaning supplies are running low.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Follow established daily and weekly cleaning schedules and procedures.
