Production​/Assembly Supervisor III

Position Overview

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft, tactical reconnaissance radars, and advanced high‑resolution surveillance systems. This role is responsible for managing day‑to‑day production and developmental programs, supervising personnel, and coordinating product flow through the production and final assembly phases.

• Supervise and lead production and assembly staff across multiple locations through all phases of production, providing leadership, guidance, and coaching.
• Oversee the design and building of tooling necessary for the production process.
• Represent the production and assembly group with planning, test, quality, production control, and engineering staff; act as primary contact with external vendors and customers regarding projects, operations, scheduling, and contractual requirements.
• Review work orders and blueprints to determine material usage, operation type, and sequence; ensure adequate supply of all production materials and tooling.
• Interpret, execute, and recommend modifications to plans, policies, procedures, and schedules.
• Schedule and coordinate work assignments and ensure accurate time charging.
• Consult on the development of overall objectives and long‑term goals of the group.
• Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality; develop and oversee changes in working conditions and equipment use to increase efficiency.
• Oversee configuration changes in the product and support field upgrades and operations.
• Manage planning, attraction, selection, retention, and development of human resources; assign, direct, and review employee work.
• Observe all laws, regulations, and applicable obligations wherever business is conducted on behalf of the company.
• Lead the workplace in a safe manner in accordance with established procedures and practices.
• Perform additional duties as assigned or required.

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and eleven or more years of progressive, production‑related experience emphasizing complex manufacturing and assembly techniques; equivalent experience may substitute education.
• Extensive technical knowledge of production and assembly concepts and practices; ability to organize, schedule, and coordinate workloads and staff to meet milestones.
• Customer‑focused with the ability to identify issues, analyze data, and develop innovative solutions to complex matters.
• Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills for accurate documentation and presentation to diverse audiences.
• Strong interpersonal skills to influence and guide employees at all levels while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Ability to initiate, plan, and manage multiple projects, programs, budgets, and schedules.
• Ability to manage multiple shifts.
• Ability to represent the company on external projects and excellent computer skills.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance.
• Must be willing to work extended hours and travel as required.
