Machine Operator Technician / Thick Film Printer Technician
The Thick Film Printer Technician - Level 2 is responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting thick film screen printing equipment used in microelectronics and ceramic circuit manufacturing. This role ensures high-quality production through equipment operation, inspections, process adjustments, and continuous improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities- Set up and operate automated/semi-automated thick film printers.
- Inspect printed substrates using microscopes and measurement tools.
- Adjust printing parameters to optimize quality and reduce defects.
- Handle and maintain conductive/resistive inks and printing screens.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
- Record production, quality, and tracking data in MES/ERP systems.
- Follow cleanroom, ESD, safety, and Lean/5S practices.
- Experience with thick film printing, screen printing, or similar manufacturing processes.
- Ability to operate, adjust, and troubleshoot printing equipment.
- Experience using microscopes, calipers, and inspection tools.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, process documents, and SOPs.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and computer skills.
- Experience with MES/ERP systems preferred.
- Knowledge of semiconductor, microelectronics, or PCB manufacturing.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, 5S, and cleanroom environments.
- Familiarity with ESD-safe practices and chemical handling procedures.
- Cleanroom and manufacturing floor environment.
- Work with automated printing equipment, inks, and inspection tools.
- PPE and cleanroom garments required, with strict adherence to safety and ESD protocols.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Poway, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $36.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
