Job Summary
General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems. This role involves developing, modifying, coordinating, and documenting the implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of quality assurance programs and systems on one or more mid‑size projects. The position provides advice and guidance in interpreting and adapting quality standards and government regulations, collaborating with engineering and manufacturing to ensure quality standards are in place, and addressing problems that require analysis of data and review of identifiable factors.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Implement software quality engineering activities on UAS programs.
- Engage directly with programs as specified in program plans and contract documents.
- Review software engineering deliverables and artifacts for compliance with the contract, program plans, and the Quality Management System (QMS) procedures and instructions.
- Identify software process or product non‑conformances; initiate appropriate corrective action; monitor, and verify effectiveness of corrective action.
- Contribute to metrics collection and analysis.
- Support proposal reviews and quality estimates.
- Prepare statistical reports and technical documents in support of company objectives and quality plans.
- Facilitate and implement interdepartmental process improvements and ensure processes align with our QMS.
- Support QMS initiatives and conduct internal QMS audits.

Job Qualifications- Typically requires a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or related discipline and six or more years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree or four or more years with a master’s degree. Equivalent experience may substitute for education.
- Must have a basic understanding of inspection methods and basic knowledge of computer operations and applications.
- Must have the analytical ability required to develop solutions to routine quality issues and the skills required to present those solutions to internal contacts.
- Must be detail-oriented to accurately prepare statistical reports and technical documents for review in support of company objectives.
- Must have good communication and leadership skills to ensure project costs and schedules are maintained.
- Knowledge of AS9100 and DO-178 preferred.
- Ability to deliver effective technical presentations and work extended hours as required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance is required.
