About the Role:
The Quality Manager oversees all quality assurance and quality control activities to ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and industry requirements. This role leads the quality team, manages audits, drives continuous improvement, and ensures that products meet the highest standards of precision and reliability standards. The purpose of this position is to support the Quality Departments ability to achieve its goals. This role is responsible for ensuring the quality department meets AMT quality and business objectives and complies with AS9100 standards.
Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Quality Department, including inspectors and quality staff.
- Maintain and improve the company's Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with AS9100 and customer requirements.
- Oversee internal, customer, and third-party audits.
- Manage nonconformance investigations, corrective actions, and root cause analysis.
- Develop and maintain inspection plans, documentation, and quality procedures.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and leadership to resolve quality issues.
- Monitor and report quality metrics, trends, and improvement initiatives.
- Ensure calibration of inspection equipment and proper use of metrology tools.
- Support customer communication regarding quality concerns and documentation.
- Comply with all Advanced Machining and Tooling policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of quality leadership experience in aerospace, defense, or precision machining.
- Strong knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, and related industry standards.
- Experience with CMMs, GD&T, inspection tools, and machining processes.
- Proven ability to lead teams and drive continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Nice to Have:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- Knowledge of non-destructive testing, metal finish processes and heat treatment processes
- Working knowledge of CNC machining, tool, fixture, work-holding and die design.
