This position, Supply Chain Manager, is based in our Buford, GA fabrication facility and will report to the General Manager of the Division
CorporateJob Description
- Leads the crucial processes of purchasing and materials management by maximizing the competitive position and the return on assets
- Manages the day-to-day activities of the purchasing function
- Develops short and long-term plans that support the Sales, Marketing, and Quality requirements of the division
- Ensures that specific customer requirements are achieved
- Develops and implements inventory plans and budgets and conducts business and necessary with other departments, divisions, and external contacts
- Communicates with Company Supply Chain Peers to identify and implement best practices
- Coordinate with various departments on strategy and execution
- Acts as a training resource to other departments for Supply Chain Knowledge
- Responsible for all quoting and selection activities
- Manage the Logistics Coordinator to ensure adequate freight needs are met
- Will create and execute on the Supply Chain/Purchasing/Inventory Strategy
- Responsible for effective management of overall spend in line with budgets
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures and work instructions and maintain system documents
- Skilled in various ERP systems, understanding at a high level how they work
- Development and Creation of Standard Processes and Procedures
- Management of Purchasing, Inventory, and Logistics
- Ability to create and maintain a Supply Chain Strategy
- Reporting of specific Metrics on a normal cadence
- Able to contribute as part of the facility Leadership team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced growth environment
- Working manager
- Ability to build relationships
- Follow up and Follow through
- 4 yr Degree in Business, Engineering, or Purchasing from an Accredited University
- 5+ years of related experience, preferably with Supervisory experience
- Experience in the metal fabrication or related industry (Burning, press brakes, Machining, orbital Welding)
- 5+ years of Purchasing Experience (Metals)
- Skilled in inventory management
- Understanding of Logistics and Transportation Management
- Knowledge and/or Skills of Lean Six Sigma tools (DMAIC)
- Knowledge of basic computer applications, notably Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Knowledge of computerized document control
- Ability to problem solve and organize large amounts of data
- Skilled in customer service and communication
- Business Acumen and Strong Leadership Potential
- MBA is a plus
- Large OEM experience in Purchasing or Supplier Management/Supply Chain
- Experience in the Manufacturing Environment
- Self-starter with the ability to think strategically and see the big picture
