Your new role

Jim Pattison Developments is seeking a Property Manager to join its Property Management team overseeing Powell River Town Centre Mall. Powell River Town Centre Mall is themunity’s primary shopping hub, offering under 250,000 sq. ft. of retail space with 30 tenants. Anchored by Save‑On‑Foods, Shoppers Drug Mart, Winners, and Walmart, the Centre delivers strong daily traffic and serves as the heart of retail activity for Powell River and surrounding coastalmunities.

The Property Manager will be an integral part of the team, interacting with other Property Managers, Accounting, Building Technicians, Development, Construction and Tenants. This role will report to the Director Property Management and will consist of, but not be limited to, the following:
Property Management Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily building and site operations, including on‑site staff.
  • Build strong relationships with tenants, vendors, and contractors.
  • Handle inquiries andplaints professionally; maintain proactive tenant engagement and on-site visibility.
  • Implement policies/procedures to ensure efficient andpliant operations.
  • Manage tenant move‑ins, move‑outs, and leasepliance.
  • Partner with the Asset Manager on annual operating budgets and on‑site leasing/showings.
  • Operate properties in line with management contracts, leases, and approved budgets.
  • Ensure all PM policies, procedures, and standards are executed consistently.
  • Approve work orders and invoices within delegated limits.
  • Negotiate cost‑effective vendor contracts and service agreements.
  • Support rent collection and conduct account reviews as needed.
  • Monitor and manage utility accounts.
  • Track tenant insurance expirations and maintain required certificates.
  • Develop building procedures and oversee building operations and staff.
  • Implement property security plans.
  • Identify and mitigate life safety, liability, and risk issues.
  • Participate in on‑call emergency response as required.
  • Marketing Responsibilities
  • Manage the marketing or promo budget.
  • Define and uphold the mall’s brand identity and messaging.
  • Plan and execute marketing strategies to drive traffic, including event logistics and vendor coordination.
  • Use paid and organic channels (social, digital, radio, print) to promote events.
  • Partner with tenants on joint promotions and campaign participation.
  • Update and maintain the property website, including holiday hours.
  • Track foot traffic and sales data, where available.
  • Collaborate with localmunity groups for activations and non‑profit initiatives.
  • What you'll need to succeed

    You bring proven experience inmercial or retail property management, supported by strong organizational, time‑management, and prioritization abilities that allow you to handlepeting demands in a fast‑paced environment. You demonstrate a high level of professionalism under pressure,municate effectively with tenants, vendors, and internal teams, and maintain strong attention to detail. Known for your positive, service‑oriented approach, you pair strong interpersonal skills with solid technical proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
