The Assistant Infant Teacher is a full-time, on-site role located in Powell, OH. This team member supports the Lead Infant Teacher in creating a safe, calm, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment, following Montessori and Reggio Emilia-inspired practices. Daily responsibilities include helping to plan and implement age‑appropriate activities, engaging in responsive caregiving, and supporting infants with feeding, diapering, rest routines, and sensory experiences.
The Assistant Infant Teacher observes and documents children’s development, maintains a clean and organized classroom, and communicates effectively with colleagues and families. This role also involves following all health, safety, and licensing guidelines and participating in team meetings and professional development.
- Knowledge of Early Childhood Development and Child Development, with an understanding of developmental milestones for infants.
- Experience or training in Teaching and Curriculum Development for children ages 6 weeks to 2 years.
- Strong Communication skills for partnering with families, collaborating with colleagues, and communicating children’s progress.
- Ability to create a nurturing, inclusive, and culturally responsive classroom environment that aligns with Montessori and Reggio Emilia principles.
- Prior experience in an infant classroom or childcare setting preferred;
Montessori or Reggio Emilia experience is a plus. - High school diploma or equivalent required; CDA or coursework in Early Childhood Education is strongly preferred.
- Capacity to meet physical demands of the role, including lifting, bending, and interacting on the floor with infants, while following safety protocols.
- Commitment to professionalism, reliability, and continuous learning through ongoing training and development.
