The Environmental Caregiver is responsible to clean common areas and residents' apartment according to schedule, and maintain a healthy and attractive environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

Housekeeping

* Cleans all common areas, including guest restrooms according to schedule. This includes, but is not limited to:

* Vacuuming all carpeted areas

* Dusting all furniture, common area items, handrails, and hanging pictures

* Cleaning glass surfaces

* Cleaning doors, doorways, and walls of fingerprints or other dirt

* Vacuuming upholstery furniture according to schedule

* Cleaning and disinfecting common areas and resident bathrooms

* Mopping common areas and bathrooms floors

* Cleaning and disinfecting soiled utility bins according to schedule

* Cleaning and organizing laundry areas and storage closets according to schedule

* Cleans residents' apartment according to schedule. This includes but is not limited to:

* Vacuuming carpeted areas

* Dusting furniture

* Cleaning and disinfecting bathroom

* Launders community linens, towels, and other items according to schedule and as needed.

Regulatory Compliance and Sanitation

* Complies with OSHA, MSDS, and community policies and procedures.

* Ensures that the housekeeping cart and other supplies are in a safe area as to prevent any injuries to residents, employees, or visitors.

* Ensures that hazardous cleaning products are properly stored and labeled.

* Properly disposes of soiled clothing or linens in accordance with infection control standards.

Communications

* Attends all regular staff meetings and required training sessions.

* Effectively communicates information pertaining to the residents on a "need to know" basis to other team members according to the community policies and procedures.

* Notifies supervisor or the clinical director if you observe a change in a resident's condition.

* Accountable for compliance, excellence and delivery of resident care in adherence with organization, local, state and federal regulations.

* Maintains a positive and professional manner toward residents, visitors, families and co-workers.

* Adheres to all policies and procedures of Ohio Living.

Requirements:

Qualifications

Education

* Tenth grade education required.

* High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience

* Six months of housekeeping experience preferred. On-the-job training provided.

* Knowledge of cleaning and general housekeeping methods and equipment preferred.

* Knowledge with care of various types of floors and the respective appropriate cleaning materials and equipment to use preferred.

Other Requirements

* Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

* High School diploma / GED preferred.

* Six months of experience required and preferably in a senior living environment preferred.

Physical

Job Requirements

To fulfill job requirements, employee must be able to perform key physical task for extended periods of time.

In a typical eight- hour day, employee will:

* Stand/walk up to two hours a day

* Sit up to eight hours a day

* Frequently support up to 30 pounds

* Frequently lift/carry up to 50 pounds

* Frequently kneel, bend, and reach
