Patient Care Associate (PCA)

The Patient Care Associate (PCA) functions as an integral member of a team of care providers on a patient care unit, reflecting a culture of cooperation, enthusiasm, and mutual respect. The team, consisting of the Registered Nurse and the Patient Care Associate, provides patient care and supportive services that are directed towards achieving patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient’s involvement in their own plan of care, improving service levels, and reducing costs.

Provide patient care and supportive services directed towards achieving patient care outcomes, maximizing patient involvement in their plan of care, improving service levels, and reducing costs.

• High School diploma or GED preferred;
• Previous patient care experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred;
• Strong customer service, organizational, and time‑management skills;
• Successful completion of PCA training course required after hire.

Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post‑offer process.
