Job DescriptionOlentangy Schools is seeking a full-time Certified ASL Interpreter to support students with hearing and/or communication disabilities at Wyandot Run Elementary School for the 2026-27 school year. The interpreter will facilitate communication between students and others through oral and signed language, creating a productive learning environment.
Employment status: 185‑day employment contract.
Qualifications- Hold a valid Ohio interpreter for the hearing‑impaired license.
- Meet all mandated health requirements.
- Have a clear criminal record.
- Comply with drug‑free workplace rules and board policies.
- Demonstrate proficiency in spoken English.
- Be proficient in American Sign Language (ASL), Pidgin Signed English (PSE), and/or Signed Exact English (SEE).
- Have strong voicing skills that accurately reflect expression.
- Be skilled in alternative communication forms such as gestures, mime, etc.
- Be open to using a total communication approach.
- Be self‑directed and possess a congenial disposition with strong interpersonal skills.
- Or meet alternative qualifications as determined by the Superintendent or Board of Education.
