the Next Gen Director
The Director of Next Generation Ministry provides visionary leadership for middle school, high school, and college ministries. This role passionately recruits, equips, and encourages students to build a lifelong relationship with Jesus Christ. Working closely with the pastoral team, they champion the mission and values of New Hope Church by creating engaging environments, developing leaders, and integrating Next Gen Ministries into the life of the church.
Through Christ-centered teaching and strong volunteer development, this leader helps young people grow in faith and impact their communities.
- Establish the vision for, direct, and enthusiastically execute the next generation ministry programs focused on reaching, rooting, and releasing devoted youth and young adult Christ followers to serve him.
- Actively build relationships with all youth, young adults, and their families through intentional, direct contact & conversations, attendance at their events & other meaningful opportunities.
- Encourage, lead by example, mentor & disciple youth/young adults to be leaders & to serve in the full ministries of the church.
- Perform as the primary ministry leader to creatively establish, grow, and manage the youth/young adult ministry programs with a focus on leading youth programs & collaborating with young adults to build, grow, and sustain their ministry.
- Communicate actively with youth, young adults & their families to build strong relationships, remaining accessible through a variety of effective methods.
- Actively recruit, coordinate & train ministry volunteers to mentor, encourage & model following Christ. Establish Youth & Young Adult Ministry Teams to creatively develop goals, programs & to organize, promote & lead regular social events, discipleship opportunities, and mission/service opportunities.
- Proactively develop relationships with school & young adult organizations to enable partnerships & draw new attendees into New Hope programs & activities.
- Develop an active co-partnership with the Children’s Ministry Director to foster a smooth transition, as well as jointly organize, promote & lead combined ministry programs for children, youth & families.
- Work collaboratively as a team member with the co-pastors, Youth/Young Adult Ministry volunteers & church staff in achieving church goals. Attending weekly staff meetings is required.
- Attend worship services & broader church functions to build deeper connections & lead by example.
- Plan, coordinate & lead a mission trip for High School students with the Youth Ministry Team.
- Organize & promote opportunities for middle school youth to attend a summer camp.
- Plan, coordinate & lead discipleship & social event schedules with the Young Adult ministry team.
- Plan a budget, monitor expenditures & promote fundraising with Consistory approval.
- Communicate all program activities to the office administrator and web administrator in a timely manner for publication & advertising opportunities.
