Scope of Position
The APRN is responsible for providing health care services to patients within the parameters of a standard care agreement with an attending physician member of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. The APRN collaborates with physicians and other clinicians to provide a full scope of patient care, focusing on preventive health or the management of stable chronic conditions. Performs medical services specifically authorized and directed by the credentialing body and certifying organization through which they hold licensure.
PositionSummary
The APRN provides health care services to patients working in collaboration with a licensed physician member of the medical staff. Healthcare services include care during acute and chronic phases of illness, education, counseling of individuals and families, health promotion, prevention, and referral to other health care providers and community resources when appropriate.
The Certified Nurse Midwife (APRN-CNM) will work in the area of OB/GYN and focus on health promotion and prevention for persons assigned as female throughout their lifespans, including but not limited to obstetrics (antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum), gynecology, urogynecology, gynecologic oncology, infertility, and maternal/fetal medicine.
Minimum Qualifications- Current certificate of authority to practice as an APRN‑CNM in the State of Ohio.
- Graduate of an ACME Certified Nurse Midwifery program that qualifies the graduate to sit for the AMCB certification examination of a national certifying organization recognized by the Ohio Board of Nursing.
- Master of Science Degree in Nursing.
- 0 years of relevant experience required.
- 0–2 years of midwifery experience preferred.
